Codima Unveils New Electronic Waste Recycling Division

Codima, a provider of integrated network management software products and electronics recycling for companies, has introduced its new division Codima Green, which will facilitate e-waste disposal.

The company said that the new division, which will provide full service pick-up and recycling option, is expected to contribute significantly to revenue growth through the capture of precious metals refining.

The company said that its new division will allow customers using its IT inventory software to identify malfunctioning and outdated hardware, and other clients to increase environmental responsibility.

Utilizing the recycling service, clients keep non-working equipment out of landfills while recovering some of their hardware investment.

Around 50 million metric tons of e-waste is produced worldwide every year and increasing, according to the United Nations Environment Program. Non-profit Electronics Takeback Coalition reports that in the US alone, 3 million tons of electronics are discarded each year, though only 16% is recycled.

Christer Mattsson, CEO of Codima, said: ''We project that our clients have millions of dollars of electronic scrap and e-waste and Codima Green offers an opportunity to them to dispose their e-waste cost effectively and safely.''
